Poetry by Sean Morris (Elder)
"I Will Repent When I Am Old, Just Before I Die"
The love of God evaporates! Eternity arrives and all sinners exasperate! (Ezek. 9:5, 10)
Creatures arrive before the Judgment Seat with nowhere to flee, (Rev. 20:12-13)
Angels and men, those who were wicked in sin, all are forced now to bow the knee. (Php. 2:10)
Their heart yearns in some hopeful plea, their heart writhes the cry, “Pity me!” (Matt. 7:21-23)
Approaching the Sovereign He hears their heart cry,
But they left off to be urgent until it was time to die. (Isa. 33:14)
They tried to repent while upon their death bed, (Hos. 7:14)
They tried to find mercy as they had planned and always said. (Matt. 24:48)
But they died without grace because they lived a life that provoked God to the face! (Matt. 24:50-51)
They rejected Him all their days. Even though He spoke, they followed their own ways. (Heb. 3:15)
A life with pleasure and full of sin, this was their choice time and time again, (2 Tim. 3:4)
And on their death bed they presumed they would have the grace, that they would be able to choose God then,
but they could not choose Him instead of all their sin. (Rev. 16:11)
Can sinners outwit God? Can they get all of their pleasure and be saved by a death-bed nod,
before the God they have defied even though He cried, wept, and died?
Now they feel deaths untimely touch, even the hand of God’s justice which grips their sinful soul,
And now they desire to come to God who ever pled to make them whole. (Matt. 9:12-13)
But it’s too late because sin has taken a toll,
Most men and women can’t repent because they are lost and out of control. (Heb. 12:17)
It is the end now, an eternal end. Now these pitiless criminals who are so vile in existence,
these men and women who are the horror of heaven... they will suffer under the merciless anger of Almighty God.
When God emerges from silence it will be with incomparable violence, (Rev. 19:11-16)
Like a Lion upon its prey He will be the victor on Judgment Day. (Amos 3:4-12)
It is a crime to have compassion when the Most Just massacres men. (Isa. 63:1-6)
Families will be seized with teeth gnashing cries, (Matt. 22:13)
mothers, brothers, and sisters will look on with no earthly ties,
This Lion-like God will ignores all their cries (Ezek. 9:10)
and every heavenly dignity will shout Alleluia as every malefactor dies. (Rev. 19:3)
The passion of Christ the world thought was nice, they neglected it for pleasure and now pay the price.

"How long, ye simple ones, will ye love simplicity? and the scorners delight in their scorning, and fools hate knowledge? Turn you at my reproof: behold, I will pour out my spirit unto you, I will make known my words unto you. Because I have called, and ye refused; I have stretched out my hand, and no man regarded; But ye have set at nought all my counsel, and would none of my reproof: I also will laugh at your calamity; I will mock when your fear cometh; When your fear cometh as desolation, and your destruction cometh as a whirlwind; when distress and anguish cometh upon you. Then shall they call upon me, but I will not answer; they shall seek me early, but they shall not find me: For that they hated knowledge, and did not choose the fear of the LORD: They would none of my counsel: they despised all my reproof. Therefore shall they eat of the fruit of their own way, and be filled with their own devices. For the turning away of the simple shall slay them, and the prosperity of fools shall destroy them. But whoso hearkeneth unto me shall dwell safely, and shall be quiet from fear of evil." (Proverbs 1:22-33)
