"PHARMAKEIA" - When Drugs from the Pharmacy are Witchcraft & Sorcery!
Having done extensive study and graduate research in areas of neuroscience, nutrition, and other health-related sciences, and as a true Biblical Christian I am compelled in the fear of the LORD to share with you the Truth pertaining to pharmakeia, also known as psychotropic, or mind-altering drugs. The Greek word “pharmakeia” is used to indicate:

2) poisoning 3) sorcery, magical arts often found in connection with idolatry and fostered with it 4) the deceptions and seductions of idolatry - New Testament Greek Lexicon |
My intention in this video, in love for your soul, is to convince you of the spiritually dangerous, and even eternally lethal consequences that these drugs have upon the soul by explaining to you how they work: the pharmacological mechanisms of actions of these drugs, and the proceeding effects upon the mind and body, and thus the catastrophic preclusion of the soul from the Biblical and soul-preserving response to the Word of God through the sober affecting of the conscience by the Spirit of the LORD. Sadly, many are unaware of these devastating spiritual consequences both as it pertains to the physical body, and of utmost importance, as it pertains to needful sobriety, or soundness of mind, to receive, and maintain the saving faith of Christ—faith which is a gift of God, not of works lest any man should boast (Eph. 2:8), faith, without which it is impossible to please God for everyone that comes to Him must believe that He is and that He is a rewarder of them that DILIGENTLY SEEK HIM! (Heb. 11:6)
Firstly, let me introduce to you the broad term “psychotropic drugs”. Psychotropic drugs may refer to any prescription drug or abusive substance that is known to affect the mind and its perceptive abilities, and thus the behavior and thoughts of a person. For example, sometimes these drugs, taken legally or illegally, depress or block various types of biological processes and signaling in the brain, and other times they stimulate or accentuate similar processes and signaling. The administration of these drugs, usually done either orally, or intravenously (through the bloodstream), works to alter or change the levels or signaling of various neurotransmitters in the brain. The primary neurotransmitter targets of these drugs are dopamine, serotonin, gamma aminobutyric acid (GABA), and norepinephrine. The major classes of legal psychotropic medicines include anti-anxiety medicine, antidepressants, antipsychotics, mood stabilizers, and stimulants. Sadly, these drugs, in spite of the great dangers to the body and soul, are commonly and legally administered by doctors all throughout the world!--And not just to treat mental disorders such as depression, schizophrenia, bipolar depression, post traumatic stress disorder, and other such terms for observed disorders of mind and behavior in affected individuals, but even to treat symptoms and medical conditions which are not considered as mental disorders, such as pain, fatigue, asthma, muscle spasms, intestinal disorders, heart disease, blood pressure problems, nausea, common cough and cold, and innumerable other usual and more serious medical conditions such as cancer and terminal illness! Often these drugs are liberally prescribed by medical providers with no personal disclaimer being given to the patient leaving him/her totally unaware that he/she is even taking a psychotropic drug!
The legal use of psychotropic drugs has been only increasing! Looking at mental illnesses alone, according to the 2019 National Survey on Drug Use and Health, among adults aged 18 years and older, those receiving any mental health service in the past year increased from 27.1 million people in 2002 to 40.2 million people in 2019, and along with this, those receiving prescription medication for a mental health issue increased from 22 million people to 32.6 million people over the same time period! There are many studies showing increases in the percentage and number of patients who are receiving psychotropic drugs such as benzodiazapenes, pain relievers, antipsychotics, and antidepressants. In fact the vast majority of those with advanced disease, terminal illnesses, or those undergoing hospice care are treated with some form of psychotropic drug, if not more than one!
The mechanisms of action of psychotropic drugs are manifold and specific to the neurotransmitter signaling target. Sometimes the drug simply blocks the action of an endogenous (or naturally found) neurotransmitter from binding to its receptor to achieve normal downstream cellular effects and neurotransmission, or signaling in the brain. Sometimes the drug mimics the action of endogenous neurotransmitter and this increases the intensity of signaling, and downstream events. Sometimes the drug blocks or downregulates the function of a neurotransmitter receptor itself. But what is exceedingly disadvantageous about the mechanisms by which these drugs work is that the body may, and often does, naturally respond to mitigate the effects of these drugs leading to, for example, desensitization of the receptors such that they become less responsive to both endogenous neurotransmitter or administered agonists! What does this mean? YOU NEED MORE DRUG TO ACHIEVE THE SAME OUTCOME! So what happens? The person becomes dependent, or in other words, CHEMICALLY ADDICTED! What does it mean to be chemically addicted? Well, for one, if you suddenly stop taking the drug, there can be catastrophic consequences such as brain damage, delirium, insanity, and death! What’s more? According to a British Medical journal, over half of million people over the age of 65 die as a result of psychotropic drugs every year in the western world! And it is said that death by suicide during withdrawal is underreported! Other commonly reported side effects of psychotropic drugs include vision problems, nausea, vomiting, sleeping disorders, anxiety, drowsiness, weight gain….the list goes on!
All this in mind, dear viewer, we must turn our attention to matters of life and eternity, and of morality and eternal standing before the God of all the earth with whom we have to do. For it is appointed unto men once to die, but after this is the judgment (Heb. 9:27), and we must all appear before the judgment seat of Christ; that every one may receive the things done in his body, according to that he hath done, whether it be good or bad (2 Cor. 5:10). According to the Word of God, all men are totally morally depraved and dead in their sins (Rom. 5:12). The Scripture says that there are none that understand or seek after God. There are none that do good, for the wicked through the pride of his countenance will not seek after God for God is not in all his thoughts, which God deems to be only evil continually! When God looks down from heaven he sees great wickedness in all the inhabitants of the earth that are not savingly reconciled to Him by the Gospel of Christ (Ps. 10:4, 14:1-3, Gen. 6:5)! The only hope for man is if the Father would supernaturally and sovereignly draw men to savingly respond to his Word, and thus be born again, a Spiritual experience in which the old man dies, and is raised anew to walk in newness of life with Christ! (Jn. 3:5, 6:44, 65, Rom. 6:1-4) The Spiritual experiences leading to this conversion, conversion itself, and perseverance in the faith of Christ are all exclusively dependent upon a sovereignly empowered response of the soul of a person to the Word of God by the facilitation of the Holy Ghost. As the Scripture says:

"So then faith cometh by hearing, and hearing by the word of God." - Rom. 10:17
"For our gospel came not unto you in word only, but also in power, and in the Holy Ghost, and in much assurance; as ye know what manner of men we were among you for your sake." - 1 Thess. 1:5 "Being born again, not of corruptible seed, but of incorruptible, by the word of God, which liveth and abideth for ever." - 1 Pet. 1:23 "It is the spirit that quickeneth; the flesh profiteth nothing: the words that I speak unto you, they are spirit, and they are life." - John 6:33 |
Thus, there is a vitally real interaction that takes place between the soul of man, the Word of God, and the Spirit of God, that enables him to Spiritually live, which Biblically speaking is what it means to be eternally justified in Christ! (John 3:36) The soul of a man who is savingly responding to the Word of God hears the written Word of God--all the while his heart is being moved upon, enlightened, and quickened by the Spirit of God, such that in hearing the Word, he is not only physically hearing, but Spiritually hearing, and in doing so, faith is imparted to him, and he LIVES, or in other Words, he is savingly communing with God through the Mediator Jesus Christ, by whose cross and blood the soul is brought near unto God! (Eph. 2:13)
This interaction between God and man and Spiritual transaction of life and righteousness to the soul of man upon his Spiritual hearing of the Word of God does involve his own perception, and God-given mental faculties. Even so the greatest commandment is this: Thou shalt love the Lord thy God with all thy heart, and with all thy soul, and with all thy mind. (Matt. 22:37) And the command given to true Christians in order that they might continue in the mercy of God is that by His mercy they would present their bodies as a living sacrifice, holy, acceptable unto God, which is their reasonable service. They are commanded not to be conformed to the world but to be transformed by the renewing of their mind in order that they may prove what is that good, and acceptable, and perfect will of God! (Rom. 12:1-2) You see, dear viewer, there is a renewing of the mind that results in Spiritual transformation which is the experience of salvation, which itself entails loving the LORD with all the heart soul, mind, and strength! Likewise it is commanded in Romans 6:13 that we should no yield our members as instruments of unrighteousness unto sin, but we must yield ourselves unto God, as those that are ALIVE from the dead, and our members as INSTRUMENTS OF RIGHTEOUSNESS UNTO GOD!
I am seeking to show you that the Spiritual experience of communion with God, all the way from the initial drawing process unto conversion, initial saving faith and repentance, and ongoing vital reality, or communion, what Christ calls “abiding in the Vine” in John 15, requires man’s mental and emotional faculties! Thus, a man cannot be converted while he is asleep! A man cannot find saving faith and repentance while is in a coma! A man cannot lift up his heart with his hands, and seek after and feel for God while he is blacked out! (Lam. 3:41, Acts 17:27) Even so, a man cannot receive the Word of God so as to understand the fear of the LORD and find the knowledge of God, unless his inclines his ear unto wisdom, applies his heart to understanding, cries after knowledge, lifts up his voice for understanding, and seeks wisdom as for hid treasures—all experiences that requires mental perception and acuity—when his mental perception and ability is greatly compromised at length! (Prov. 2:1-7)
What happens when souls are prescribed mind-altering drugs which block, diminish, accentuate, twist, contort, and distort mental perception and ability, and not for an hour or day, but almost always for an extended period of time, and this legally and commonly, as if it were a life-saving medication! To the contrary, men upon their death-beds whose last days or even hours are transpiring are occluded from being able to even physically and mentally comprehend what is going on around them accurately if at all, much less be responsive to the Word of Truth and Life by the Holy Ghost who reproves men of sin, righteousness, and judgment! (Jn. 16:8) Thus, this exceedingly important time of reckoning wherein there is yet hope that the Word of God would savingly arrest their souls, is virtually ELIMINATED! And what is the result?: A painless and falsely peaceful death road to everlasting torment in ceaseless fire! May God have mercy!
Truly man’s only problem is not mental disorder, or illnesses, but the absence of peace with God through unabsolved sin! There is no peace, saith the LORD, unto the wicked (Isa. 48:22)! And the wicked are like the troubled sea, when it cannot rest, whose waters cast up mire and dirt (Isa. 57:20)! Many sorrows shall be to the wicked: but he that trusteth in the LORD, mercy shall compass him about (Ps. 32:10) In fact, the Bible says that mental “disorders” or “illnesses” in accordance with their modern connotations are actually Spiritual curses which are a result of willful sin in both unconverted people and backslidden Christians. The Israelites are warned not to forsake the LORD for then: The LORD shall smite thee with madness, and blindness, and astonishment of heart: And thou shalt grope at noonday, as the blind gropeth in darkness, and thou shalt not prosper in thy ways: and thou shalt be only oppressed and spoiled evermore, and no man shall save thee (Deut. 28:28-29)!

"Surely the serpent will bite without enchantment; and a babbler is no better. The words of a wise man's mouth are gracious; but the lips of a fool will swallow up himself. The beginning of the words of his mouth is foolishness: and the end of his talk is mischievous madness. A fool also is full of words: a man cannot tell what shall be; and what shall be after him, who can tell him? Furthermore, when men resort to any other means to deal with this problem of sin, rather than the Everlasting Gospel of Jesus Christ, and salvation through His blood, the Scripture calls this witchcraft, or sorcery, which are explicitly forbidden, and result in Spiritual chastisement at the hand of God (Gal. 5:20, Rev. 9:21, 18:23)!

"And when they shall say unto you, Seek unto them that have familiar spirits, and unto wizards that peep, and that mutter: should not a people seek unto their God? for the living to the dead? To the law and to the testimony: if they speak not according to this word, it is because there is no light in them. And they shall pass through it, hardly bestead and hungry: and it shall come to pass, that when they shall be hungry, they shall fret themselves, and curse their king and their God, and look upward. And they shall look unto the earth; and behold trouble and darkness, dimness of anguish; and they shall be driven to darkness." - Isa. 8:19-22

Yet of those who are in a saving relationship with God, the Scripture says that they are granted peace that passes understanding, love that passes knowledge, and joy unspeakable and full of glory, receiving the end of their faith: the salvation of their souls (Php. 4:7, Eph. 3:19, 1 Pet. 1:8)!

Dear viewer, I share are these things in love for your soul: O that you would turn to the LORD and truly live! You will find that upon the forgiveness of your sins by His blood, your conscience will be purged from dead works to serve the living God, and you will have peace, in that He has overcome the world, and joy which no man can take away (Heb. 9:14, John 16:22, 33)!
