"The Evangelist"
Oh God of Heaven, open my eyes! (2 Kings 6:17)
Cause me to see that You know my times. (Ps. 31:15)
My uprising, my downsitting, (Ps. 139:2)
My footsteps that wander about the city. (Gen. 20:13, Matt. 4:19)
I can see You LORD - a mighty Man! (Ex. 15:3, Heb. 10:12)
My heart bows low to Your sovereign plan! (Ps. 99:5)
To the people, Your word does sound forth.
I see it go, yea, but in earthly voice.
Nevertheless, up in the air, the battle t'is there! (Eph. 2:2, 6:12)
Thine enemies turn back at Thy sword's impact! (Eph. 6:17, Josh. 5:13-15)
Going forth - Hoorah! - the saints fall behind!
Seeing Him go - Behold! - there is courage inside! (Judges 4:14)
The Captain gone forth, saints charging behind, (Judges 7:20)
The city-street sinners stand mesmerized! (Acts 14:1)
With heavenly battles won, earthly sinners undone, (Isa. 6:1-5)
The Lord of glory descends on everyone!
Spoils at war are seized, and with jealousy they are cast,
at the feet of Jesus Christ, as priestly trumpets blast! (Rev. 4:10)
Glory to GOD! The Savior of men!
He opens the heart! He dwells within! (Lk. 24:32, Acts 16:14)
All things new! Forgiven sin! (2 Cor. 5:17, Col. 2:13, Eph. 1:7)
The sinners just saved are blessing Him! (Lk. 17:15-16)
