"The Harvest Festival"
The Gospel of Christ was once proclaimed
By crucified men through the Holy Ghost inflamed (Galatians 2:20, Galatians 5:24, 2 Cor 5:9-21)
"Repent for the kingdom of God is at hand" (Matt 3:2)
Was their God given message and divine command (1 Thess 2:4, Acts 17:24-30)
This world is fading away with all its pomp and show (1 John 2:15-7)
Save yourself from this untoward generation as on to hell they go. (Acts 2:40)
The axe is laid at the root of the tree, and God's wrath on you doth abide (Luke 3:9, John 3:36)
Flee to Christ and be ye saved before that day comes as a thief in the night (1 Thess 5:1-3, 2 Pet 3:9-14, Revelation 3:3)
As the kingdom of darkness was overthrown (Col 2:15)
The transforming power of the gospel was shown (2 Cor 5:17)
The sick were healed, the devils fled (Luke 10:9, 17-9, Matthew 10:8)
And sin slain corpses were raised from the dead (Luke 7:22)
But what has become of that sober and pressing message today? (2 Tim 3:1-7, 1 Tim 4:1-8)
Look with me now in broken-hearted horror at what so called "Christians" say (Psalm 119:53, Titus 1:16, Matt 7:21-3)
Now we invite men to lift up their souls to games and vanity (Psalm 24:3-6)
Come and enjoy yourself while dead in your sins? What hypocritical insanity! (Ephesians 2:1-3)
With tears I stand in astonishment at this grievous event (Jeremiah 9:1-3, Jeremiah 13:17, Job 17:8)
When Christ said deny yourself and take up your cross; is this what He meant?(Matt 16:24)
Instead of fleeing from the wrath to come and striving to enter in (Matt 3:7, Luke 13:23-4)
Get your face painted, have fun at the concert, then ask Jesus to come in(Jude 1:4)
These soon perishing, never dying, condemned souls don't have long (Job 21:13-20, Psalm 73:18-9, 27)
And will we come together and laugh with them? Or play them a song?(Luke 6:25, Ecclesiastes 7:5)
The church has ceased praying. So instead we're willing to pay
For some carnival of carnality and "fun" filled day
O my Jesus! What have we done to your Gospel with our worldly wise way?! (2 Cor 1:2, 1 Cor 2:1)
Can You, from this harlot church your wrath stay?(Jeremiah 6:13-6, Jeremiah 5:7)
The salvation of the Lord is near to those who fear Him and at His word do tremble (Psalm 85:9, Isaiah 66:2)
But who will fear God when the church invites them for games and play to assemble. (Jeremiah 5:21-31)
Now submitting to Christ as Lord and forsaking all is legalistic (Luke 14:16-33, Matthew 16:22-8, Matt 10:32-39)
The free grace gospel and sinners prayer brings a much better statistic (1 Tim 6:5, Jude 4, 2 Pet 2:1-3, 18-22, Matt 24:5, 11, Luke 21:8)
No one is being freed from their sin, but that's okay (2 Peter 2:18-22)
It means something different in the Greek when Christ said it's a narrow way (Matthew 7:13-4, 1 Tim 6:3-5, esp. verse 4)
Like drug dealers and witch doctors we offer their addiction of choice (Ezekiel 13:10)
Alluring carnal men through the lusts of their flesh, for in these do they rejoice (2 Pet 2:18)
Instead of telling men to repent of their idolatrous pleasure and play (1 Cor 10:7)
We try to outdo the world and tell them they can have just as much fun with us that day
We say, "Christians have peace, and love, and can revel just like you do" (Gal 5:21)
"Because our festivals and parties are redeemed;" or some other demonic voodoo (1 Sam 15:23)
O Be not deceived this wisdom cometh not from above (James 3:15)
It's earthly, sensual, and devilish in the name of some perverted carnal love (Prov 7:18)
Come out from among them and be ye separate on this day of abomination (2 Cor 6:14-7:1)
Have no part with this peoples blood as they receive a false salvation (Ezekiel 13:22, Ezekiel 3:18, Jer 23:32, 2pet 2:19)
Christ called men to be crucified to this world and it's treasures (Luke 14:27, Gal 6:14, Matt 16:23-4)
He would not have done that by inviting them to take one last taste of it's God-forsaken pleasures.
O Let us turn away from the wisdom of this world's attractions (1 Cor 3:18)
And seek God with all our heart until the Holy Ghost moves in action (Isaiah 55:1-7, Deuteronomy 4:29, 2 Chronicles 14:2-4, 2 Chronicles 15:12-3, 2 Chronicles 30:18-20, Ezra 6:21, Psalm 10:4, Psalm 14:2, psalm 53:2, Isaiah 8:19-20, Jeremiah 50:4-8, Hosea 3:5, Acts 17:26-7)
Let us humble ourselves and confess we've got it wrong (James 4:4-10)
And return to the foolish ways of Christ though the American church wont go along. (Hebrews 13:13-4)
2 Corinthians 6:14-7:1 Be ye not unequally yoked together with unbelievers: for what fellowship hath righteousness with unrighteousness? and what communion hath light with darkness? And what concord hath Christ with Belial? or what part hath he that believeth with an infidel? And what agreement hath the temple of God with idols? for ye are the temple of the living God; as God hath said, I will dwell in them, and walk in them; and I will be their God, and they shall be my people. Wherefore come out from among them, and be ye separate, saith the Lord, and touch not the unclean thing; and I will receive you, And will be a Father unto you, and ye shall be my sons and daughters, saith the Lord Almighty. Having therefore these promises, dearly beloved, let us cleanse ourselves from all filthiness of the flesh and spirit, perfecting holiness in the fear of God.
2 Corinthians 5:11 Knowing therefore the terror of the Lord, we persuade men; but we are made manifest unto God; and I trust also are made manifest in your consciences.
1 John 2:15-17 Love not the world, neither the things that are in the world. If any man love the world, the love of the Father is not in him. For all that is in the world, the lust of the flesh, and the lust of the eyes, and the pride of life, is not of the Father, but is of the world. And the world passeth away, and the lust thereof: but he that doeth the will of God abideth for ever.
James 4:3-4 Ye ask, and receive not, because ye ask amiss, that ye may consume it upon your lusts. Ye adulterers and adulteresses, know ye not that the friendship of the world is enmity with God? whosoever therefore will be a friend of the world is the enemy of God. Galatians 5:13 For, brethren, ye have been called unto liberty; only use not liberty for an occasion to the flesh, but by love serve one another.
