The Righteousness of God in Life & Death, in the Resurrection & the Ascension
By Sean Morris
Info:
Chiefly, this sermon ventures to explore the glory of God's righteousness in the death, burial, resurrection, and ascension of Jesus Christ! To understand this, however, one must understand the righteousness of God's justice as it relates to the human experience of life and death. Only then can we understand the significant happening which befell the Man, Jesus of Nazareth! Therefore let me ask you, my reader: Do you understand the righteousness of God in life & death, in the resurrection and the ascension? Those of you who falter in faith would be glad to understand the marvelous truth of God's righteousness in these events! For, the focal point of Paul's argument that unveils the significance of the death and resurrection of Jesus Christ is the righteousness of God (Rom. 3:4-7, 21-26). Are you surprised? For the same reason, also, God is able to both condemn or justify wicked people depending upon their relationship to Jesus Christ! It is my hope that upon hearing this sermon the listener would be utterly shocked to behold the glorious mystery in it all, that, Heaven was aghast to see a Sinless Man offered upon a cursed Tree! That, Earth was aghast to see an accused Sinner (a Crucified Man) resurrected and uncontained by the bars of death! And, that Heaven had to receive this Human's Body into the otherwise unapproachable gates of the Temple in Heaven (the place where no human body had ever tread before)! AH, THE GLORY OF IT ALL!
Psalm 24:7-10
[7] Lift up your heads, O ye gates; and be ye lift up, ye everlasting doors; and the King of glory shall come in.
[8] Who is this King of glory? The LORD strong and mighty, the LORD mighty in battle.
[9] Lift up your heads, O ye gates; even lift them up, ye everlasting doors; and the King of glory shall come in.
[10] Who is this King of glory? The LORD of hosts, he is the King of glory. Selah.
