This sermon was preached at an evangelistic outreach on behalf of the Church of Wells, formerly know as the "Church in Arlington" - a small but zealous holiness and righteousness preaching, bible-believing, Jesus Christ loving, Spirit-filled and led New Testament-like church. A congregation that is (by the grace of God) a God-centered, God-founded, and God-united family of young heavenly-minded, soul-winning and sin-hating biblical Christian-converts from many back-rounds all united by the Holy Spirit of Jesus Christ, "which he hath given to them that obey him" (Acts 5:32).
*The INTENT of this sermon, aside from the glory of God, is to shake, yea even to scare the listener out of a false Christian and carnal fig leaf-like security and profession, if need be, lest the reader be found naked and without a mediator before the throne of an impartial and thrice Holy God named Jesus Christ, the LORD of Glory, who sits on the throne of Heaven as you read, and is set to judge the quick and the dead!-Lest the reader stand exposed and open before a God who is set to punish all sin that is not paid for by his perfect atoning-blood given only through the gift of God's salvation in Christ Jesus, which is owned only by repentance and faith in Him. -The salvation which vitally and legally unites one to the living Jesus and all the sin-atoning merits of his blood, the righteous nature of His Spirit, and the sweet fellowship of his truly "born-again" saints, which is evidenced by the undeniable sign of his undeserved covenant-mercy, which is the Holy Ghost; and he will accept no other receipt of salvation than "Christ in you, the hope of glory!"(Col.1:27) So, do you have Jesus? Are you saved? Honestly? your soul is at stake?
"Enter ye in at the strait gate: for wide is the gate, and broad is the way, that leadeth to destruction, and many there be which go in thereat: Because strait is the gate, and narrow is the way, which leadeth unto life, and few there be that find it."
Matthew 7:13-14
"Strive to enter in at the strait gate: for many, I say unto you, will seek to enter in, and shall not be able."
